Day 3: God's Day - První máj!

Mile 17 - 26 (saddle south of Lake Morena - Boulder Oaks Campground)
Woke up before sunrise on a beautiful spot under a giant pine tree. The fairytale landscape was enchanted in thick creamy fog.

Big thanks to the pines for providing soft and dry place to sleep, all people on the trail for their exceptional kindness, the friendly community at Lake Morena Community Church for sharing food for body and soul with hungry and thirsty hikers, and to God who created this beautiful Earth.

At the Oak Shores store l had my first beer in more than two years. Hikers need minerals :-) and after that had a long afternoon nap at Lake Morena campground. The next 6 miles of trail continued through beautiful green landscape full of big stone boulders, wildflowers, lizards and rabbits. Just after sunset l reached Boulder Oaks campgrounds. Three friendly hikers (two from Taiwan, 1 from Alaska) invited me for delicious supper and another beer. I shared with them the bag of oranges that l got from church.

We didn't mind the sound of cars on the nearby highway and fell fast asleep under old live oak trees and sky full of stars.
